CyberCrime Blog #1

1) What are ethics? For each case, how did you rate it? (For #s 1-7, ethical, unethical, criminal) Why?
     -Ethics are society's rules.
      1. For case 1, I said unethical because he wasn't supposed to go on the computer for his own free time.
      2. For case 2, I said ethical because the programmer was the one who made it and it would be his own work and should be able to give it to anyone he wants.
      3. For case 3, I said criminal because the employee wasn't supposed to see any of the information and he didn't have permission.
      4. For case 4, I said criminal because he took money from people's accounts WITHOUT them knowing and most of all, he didn't have the bank's permission.
      5. For case 7, I said unethical because it would be unethical  to write a program that does something bad, even if your job was on the line.

2) What are values? What are your strongest values?
-Values are what you think . My strongest values would be to hear what others have to say before we judge them.

3) In the values shuffle, were you tempted to agree or disagree when you felt the opposite? How does peer pressure work?
-No, not really. I just stood where I thought was right. People feel peer pressure when they feel left out and others want you to join them. There's good peer pressure and bad. Good would be to encourage people to keep studying; bad would be to encourage them to take drugs or to smoke.

4) What are morals? And do ethics and values always match?
-Morals are your rules. And no, ethics and values aren't always the same, everyone is different with different ideas.

5) What are consequences of unethical behavior?
-Depends on what you do. For instance, if you cheated on a test at school, you would probably get detention. If you did something wrong at work, then it would be up to your boss to decide you punishment.

The Measure of a Man Blog

1) Write up your response questions in paragraph form.  Be sure to use examples from the movie and answer in a reflective manner showing thought.
-I think when True AI is achieved, our relationship is going to change, because they will make their own decisions, and they will have emotions. They should be considered "life" if they have creativity, emotions, and curiosity, that's everything a human has. As for humans being allowed to own them, it's not right, and it would be considered slavery. If they are sentient, they realize what humans are doing to them and they could fight back. They should also be considered human because they would be just like us, in  metal and parts. As for rights, I'm in both minds, and I know that's a bit hypocritical, but it would be disastrous if they lost control and fought. But they should also enjoy what we enjoy.

2) Do you believe that AI is going to happen. Explain why or why not.
-I do believe AI is going to happen, especially because we are getting so close to it. The most advanced robot we have is "ASIMO" and he is able to respond to things without anyone telling him. He isn't controlled either. He is able to memorize things and learn something new, just like a human. Even the small things that everyone has, like cars, has some sort of AI, even if it isn't TRUE AI.

3) Will AI be an overall good thing or bad thing?  What is the worst case and best case scenario as you see it?
-Overall, AI should be a good thing. The worst case scenario is if all the robots got together and overtook the humans. But other then that, AI would help all of us in a good way.

4) What was your feeling about the episode "The Measure of a Man". Was it realistic? Did it stimulate thought about the issues?  Is it a valuable use of class time?
-About the episode, I thought it was a good example of TRUE AI and I thought about the rights of "Data" It was pretty realistic, in my opinion. "Data" is a was a good example of what we were talking about in class. I thought it was a good episode. :)

QUESTION:

Analysis - Moore's Law - Is Moore's Law going as fast as the rate of the actual computer speed?

Evaluaton - Turing Test - Do you think the Turing test is useful?

Synthesis - Today's A.I. - Looking at what exists now, how far will technology take us?

(FOR FUN, ANSWER THEM! :])

20Q and Darpa Urban Challenge:

1) What are the three indicators of intelligence?
  A: curiosity, creativity, and emotion

2) What is the Darpa Urban Challenge? When did it happen?
A: a challenge that involves cars driving themselves, as if someone is driving them. It happened in 2007.

3) What was the prize?
  A: $2,000,000

4) Would you buy a self driving car? Why or why not?
A: I'm in both minds, because it would be cool to not drive, but to get to places (even though you experienced this before when you were younger XP), but I would also be afraid if the car malfunctions and doesn't respond to orders.

5) Play three games with 20Q? List the topics for each game. Did it guess? how many guesses?
A:SUBJECTS (BTW, EVERYTHING WAS FROM KINGDOM HEARTS):
        -DISNEY, it guessed 29 times
        -DISNEY, it guessed 17 times
           -DISNEY, it guessed 30 times

6) How does 20Q learn? Summarize the 5 points in the box:
  A: -20Q is a neural network based on A.I.
-20Q's opinion are based on games it has played. They do not program the knowledge.
-You can teach the game the correct answers by playing the same, and similar, objects several times in a row.
-Contradictions wit the 20Q A.I. are not bad, they indicate that different people have different views.
-20Q LEARNS FROM EVERY GAME PLAYED, SO, PLAY AGAIN!

CHATBOT ACTIVITY:

1) What is a chatbot?
A:You talk to he/she, which is just a program.

2) Record your conversation, is this bot true AI or not? Give 3 ex. from your chat.
  A:
  -she has no tearducts
-she doesn't know what a Facebook is.
-When I repeat something, the answer she says stays the same.
I don't think she is TRUE AI.

3) How was this chat different from the Turing Test?
A:I don't think this chat was really different from the actual Turing Test.

4) If you ask if the bot is a human, it will tell you no, but can it still pass the test? Explain.
A:Yes, it can still pass because not only are they responding, they are answering the questions like a human.
